Introducing Fiona Rowan Cranston Haines

Liz, Sam and I are thrilled to finally announce the birth of Fiona Rowan Cranston Haines. Fiona was born at 7:33 pm on Tuesday, January 27. She is 7 lbs, 12 1/2 oz in weight, and 20 inches long. Fiona has a thick head of dark hari and looks quite a bit like her brother Sam did at the same age, though a little less hairy, and with more of a snub nose.
More details and photos will follow, but as a short recap, after a long wait for labor to begin, then a long labor that included pitocin but no pain interventions (epidural, narcotics, etc), Liz delivered Fiona after just 6 1/2 minutes of pushing. Liz: "I could NOT have done this without the amazing support and caring of Chris and our doula. Thank you guys, so much!"

  1. First of all, you're a rock star when it comes to pushing. It went quickly with Sam too didn't it? Second...are you kidding me? Blogging from the hospital? It's kind of surreal, but I love it. See you soon! I love you and your little family.
