Starting to Feel Human Again

Yesterday morning at 8:30 am, Chris and I got on our phones and set up sick appointments for me and for Sam. Sam seemed to be feeling okay, but that didn't mean he wouldn't take a nosedive later in the day. It turns out that we were right to take him in, as he had a double ear infection. I guess that explains the recurring fever and crankiness!

With Sam off to the pediatrician with Chris, I dragged myself out to get checked out. Dr. K took a look and determined that I was well on my way to developing a nasty sinus infection. Given the baby's imminent (hopefully!) arrival, she wanted to treat it aggressively and went ahead with prescribing antibiotics.

As of this morning, Sam was able to head off to daycare for the first time in a week. I'm also feeling like I'm on the road to recovery, though far from perfect. I think this is large part due to the fact that I actually managed to sleep last night. On Saturday and Sunday night, my sleep was fitful, at best, with long periods of extreme discomfort and sleeplessness. You know things are bad when you decide you'd be more comfortable taking a shower at 3am than staying in bed any longer.

My gameplan for today is to work a half day at home, but to spend the rest of the day focused on resting, drinking lots of water, and using my neti pot as often as possible. I'm hoping Sam comes home none the worse for having gone to daycare. If all goes well, we'll both be feeling much more like ourselves by tomorrow.

Which leads me to.... the baby. Baby, when are you going to grace us with your presence? We want to meet you! Please come soon! But, if you could, come at a time that will allow me to watch the Lost season premiere at 9pm Wednesday night. I'm willing to miss it though, if that's the only time that works for you!
