Ugh... Well, I really hope the big day is coming soon, because I'm feeling increasingly lousy, especially at the beginning and end of the day. I've been up with Sam for about a half hour now and feel almost like I have the flu, given the general achy feeling I've got right now, combined with localized lower back pain. Every time I rolled over in the night, my entire abdomen cramped up uncomfortably and would take 10 minutes to settle down again.
I feel bad because the way I'm feeling is reducing my tolerance for some of Sam's more trying antics. In the past 10 minutes alone, I've gotten crabby with him for messing around with the cords on the laptops, trying to climb over the arm of the couch so that he can launch himself into my lap, sitting on Lily's head, hauling on Jack's collar, abusing a book that he likes ("I'm breaking it!), throwing a variety of toys around the room and general whining. Granted, none of these things are activities he should be engaged in, so a little crabbiness is probably warranted, but it's usually more effective to diffuse this type of behavior in Sam by staying calm and diverting him. I think I need a few more minutes of sitting quietly on the couch though.
On the up side, Sam seems to like some of the videos that are playing on VH1 (not much on at 7:30 in the morning) and is currently mesmerized by the new Killers video. He also enjoyed Pink's video about breaking up with her husband ("She has a tractor!" and "She break the tree!"). On the other hand, he amped up the bad behavior during videos by The Fray and Nickelback, though I honestly can't blame him--I'm not a fan either.
Ooh, good, he likes Fallout Boy too, so 2 more minutes of not being climbed on. Sounds like there's some bad music coming up though--don't want to find out he's a Pussycat Dolls fan--so I'd better go work on feeling human again.
