Sam's Favorite Things

It took me a while, but I've finally created a list of Sam's favorite things. The following is a list of likes and dislikes, based on what I have deduced as his mother.

Sam’s Favorite Things:

1. His parents and sister.


2. His extended family and caregiver.


3. His taggies.


4. His “stuff” (stuffed Lamby, Elmo, Pigeon, Pony, MSU Bear, etc.)


5. His binky (ARGH!!!).


6. Playing on the swings and slides at the playground.


7. Going for walks in the woods.


8. Going to the beach.


9. Playing in the yard.


10. Playing with all of his many, many cars and trucks.


11. Ice cream, brownies, cake, yogurt, grapes, processed meat (bleah!), and chicken nuggets.


12. Milk!


13. Watching Caillou, Sesame Street, or Thomas the Tank Engine on PBS Sprout.


14. Picking up sticks in the yard.


15. Helping to give Fiona a bath.


16. Making Fiona laugh.


17. Playing with his friends.


18. Going to his grandparents’ house (both sets).


19. Harassing the dogs.


20. Spotting interesting trucks and cars while riding in the car.


21. Going for stroller rides.


22. Pushing the cart at the store.


23. Playing “There once was a man who lived down here (Sam’s ankle) and there was a store at the top of the hill (his knee) and every day the man would walk….up ….to the store… (walk your fingers up his shin) and then he’d walk…. Back… down again…(walk fingers back down)”.


24. Being allowed to sleep upstairs with Mommy and Daddy.

Sam’s Least Favorite Things:

1. Thunder and lightening.


2. Falling down.


3. Having to stay seated during dinner.


4. Being stuck in the car for too long.


5. Having to let someone help him steer the shopping cart.


6. Apologizing.


7. Time outs.


8. Saying he’s sorry when he misbehaves.


9. Talking to people he doesn’t know.


10. Going to bed when he still wants to play.


11. Having the dogs steal his food.


12. Finding one of the dogs asleep on his bed.


13. Having food on his hands.


14. Being stuck in the car in traffic on the way home from daycare.


15. The way the light comes through the glass block windows in our living room at certain times of the day. (“That window is scary to me!”)
