Fiona's Likes and Dislikes

Fiona is growing up and has started to share her likes and dislikes with us. She’s a happy little baby, so the good news is that her likes far outweigh her dislikes.

Fiona’s Favorite Things:
Nursing.
Her parents and brother.
Her extended family and caregiver.
Anyone who talks to her in an excited, high-pitched voice, particularly if it is Sam.
Classical music and Souza marches.
Chewing on her taggie or bib.
Staring at her butterfly quilt.
Going on walks in the stroller with Sam, or strapped into her Baby Bjorn.
Kicking her legs while sitting in her bouncy seat.
Taking naps in her baby swing.
The taste of gripe water.
Taking a bath, especially if Sam helps wash her.
Having the wind blow in her face.
Watching Sam play.
Playing “Up! Up! Up! And DOWN!” (Get her to hold your fingers with her hands, then pull her up into a standing position while saying “Up! Up! Up!”, then gently lowering her down while saying “And DOWN!” Absolutely loves it.
The sound of the vacuum cleaner.
Being held so that she can see the face of the person holding her as well as anyone else in the vicinity.
Being barefoot.
Getting licked in the face by one of the dogs.
Sitting in my lap while I read Sam books.

Fiona’s Least Favorite Things (So Far):
Waiting to eat.
Vaccinations.
Being ignored.
Wearing baby gowns while being ignored (she walks her feet right up the front of them so that the neck hole gets pulled down to her waist).
Being buckled into the car seat.
Riding in the car (so different from her brother—he loved it and would go right to sleep).
Being held on facedown on your chest, with her head under the holder’s chin.
Modern rock.
Tummy time.
Gas.
